Close Brush

Rong Sheng shared a real-life story with me today, and it sent chills down my spine. Here it goes:

His friend's friend was an exchange student somewhere in Europe last year. She stayed back late in school one day to complete her work, and was on her way back to her hostel when she felt something dripping onto her head. Checking out the liquid on her head, she realized to her horror, that it was blood. However, being out alone late at night, she decided not to check it out and headed back to her hostel quickly.

After her warm and nice bath, a policeman came knocking at her door. He explained to her that the police uncovered a murder in the vicinity, and were looking for witnesses among the residents. She thought about the hassle of witnessing, and about the fact that she was in a foreign land alone, and decided to tell the policeman that she didn't see anything.

It was published on the next day that the murderer was caught. She read the article, and found out that he was none other than the policeman.
