Ming Hoe pointed out to me that people tend to fall in love when they are outside their home countries. He broke up with his girl when she left for Australia because she found someone else there. His engineering friends who have never spoken to each other when they were in Singapore got together when they left for exchange together. And there was Kristen and Elma when I was in Utrecht. My 3rd uncle and aunt met on a tour to Japan too.
This would be a pretty interesting phenomenon to investigate in a social psychology laboratory module. Don't you think?
