Mr Chin used the story of Zacchaeus and the sycamore tree in Luke 19 for his devotion on Enrolment Day. I think his main point was to use a fun activity like tree climbing for a higher purpose, seeing Jesus. He used the tree as an allusion to the BB, telling the Boys to come have fun and meet Jesus at the same time.
But trees are not all fun and nice too. Our Blessed Lord was cursed when He hung from a tree for our sake. See Galatians 3:13, Deuternomy 21:22-23. On this tree we climb every Saturday, we lose our lives (hopefully) for our Blessed Lord too. What an apt allusion. What a tall order.
